R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Erby |
|
Glenn Eikner of Tyler, who passed away on October 28, 2022, at the |
|
age of 73; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Tyler, Erby Eikner was born on |
|
October 14, 1949, to Erby and Brownie Gertrude Eikner; he graduated |
|
from John Tyler High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State |
|
University, where he received his bachelor of business |
|
administration degree; he went on to enjoy a rewarding career as |
|
business manager of Maddox Air Conditioning and retired after 32 |
|
years of service; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Eikner gave back to his community through his |
|
active involvement in the Tyler-Rose City Kiwanis Club; as a member |
|
of the Kiwanis, he held many roles at the local, division, district, |
|
and international levels of the organization; he also served as |
|
president of the board of directors at Camp Tyler, an outdoor |
|
learning program for youth, and volunteered his time at St. Mary |
|
Magdalene Catholic Church's food pantry; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, Mr. Eikner enjoyed the |
|
love and support of his wife, Francine, their two children, |
|
Stephanie and Matthew, and their grandchildren and |
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Erby Eikner led a rich and purposeful life centered |
|
around his family and his community, and he will forever be |
|
remembered with great admiration and affection by all who were |
|
fortunate enough to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby pay tribute to the memory of Erby Glenn Eikner and extend |
|
sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Francine |
|
Eikner; to his daughter, Stephanie Lassanske, and her husband, Tom; |
|
to his son, Matthew Eikner, and his wife, Tammy; to his brother, |
|
Conny Eikner, and his wife, Mary; to his grandchildren and |
|
great-grandchildren; and to his many other relatives and friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this |
|
day, it do so in memory of Erby Eikner. |
