SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 12

WHEREAS, Dr. Joe Daniel Nichols Jr. retired from Genesis PrimeCare Ellington Memorial Clinic on August 31, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Dan Nichols graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in 1966, and he went on to enjoy an exemplary medical career that spanned more than five decades; and

WHEREAS, A family practice specialist, Dr. Nichols served the Atlanta, Texas, community with great distinction through the years; he was affiliated with a number of area hospitals, including Wadley Regional Medical Center and the Christus St. Michael Health System, as well as with many other doctors and specialists at East Texas Border Health Clinic; and

WHEREAS, For more than half a century, Dr. Dan Nichols provided skilled and compassionate care to his patients, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he begins the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th Legislature, hereby congratulate Dr. Joe Daniel Nichols Jr. on his retirement from Genesis PrimeCare Ellington Memorial Clinic and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for Dr. Nichols as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
