SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 19
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Gloria Kolb
 
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived may help to comfort
  those saddened by the death of Gloria Anne Gilson Kolb of Tyler on
  July 30, 2022, at the age of 92; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Harold and Ruth Gilson, the former
  Gloria Gilson was born in Rumford, Maine, on April 8, 1930, and
  she grew up in Boston, Massachusetts; she went on to study
  nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital and Simmons College,
  and it was at that time that she met the love of her life, James
  Kolb; the couple were joined in matrimony and shared a rewarding
  union that spanned more than five decades until Mr. Kolb's death
  in 2005; and
         WHEREAS, After living in California, Mr. and Mrs. Kolb
  moved to Venezuela, where they helped build a church and an
  orphanage that they supported for many years; the couple settled
  in Tyler in 1965, and Mrs. Kolb served as a nurse at Mother
  Frances Hospital for several years before working at Texlan Oil
  Company; and
         WHEREAS, Active in her community, Mrs. Kolb was a member
  of the Petroleum Wives of Tyler and the Historic Aviation
  Memorial Museum; a woman of deep faith, she attended Green
  Acres Baptist Church and later became involved with The Woods
  Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Kolb was the devoted mother of 3 children,
  Jonathan, Sheri, and Sandra, and with the passing years, she had
  the pleasure of seeing her family grow to include 7 grandchildren
  and 11 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Gloria Kolb lived a caring and purposeful life,
  and she will forever be remembered with great admiration and
  affection by all who held her close to their hearts; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Gloria Anne
  Gilson Kolb and extend sincere condolences to the members of her
  family: to her children, Jonathan Kolb, Sheri Machel and her
  husband, John, and Sandra Snyder and her husband, Mark; to her
  grandchildren, Tyler Machel and his wife, Ashley, Cameron Machel
  and his wife, Erin, Johannes Kolb and his wife, Laura, Kathrine
  Ries and her husband, Alexander, Stephanie Poblocka and her
  husband, Patrik, Zach Snyder and his partner, Cassie, and Mike
  Snyder and his wife, Victoria; to her great-grandchildren; and to
  her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Gloria Kolb.
