SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 45
         WHEREAS, The Holliday High School girls' cross country team
  proved itself the finest 3A squad in Texas by winning the 2021
  University Interscholastic League state championship; and
         WHEREAS, The Lady Eagles matched up against the top high
  school competitors in Texas at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock on
  November 5, 2021; under the guidance of head coach Glenn Griffin,
  the Holliday runners dominated the field in the 3A competition,
  finishing with 39 points to capture the fourth title in school
  history; and
         WHEREAS, Holliday was paced by Hannah Spears, who claimed
  the individual championship with a time of 11 minutes, 34.9
  seconds; she was followed by Jaycee Lyons in 9th place at
  12:05.30 and by Simone Mouras in 11th place at 12:09.30; also
  contributing to the team's exceptional showing were Kyla
  Coheley, who clocked in at 12:23.00, Jaci Shepherd, who finished
  in 12:40.10, Breagan Blowers, who completed the course in
  12:47.10, and Briar Griffin, who posted a time of 13:09.60; and
         WHEREAS, The talented student-athletes of the Lady Eagle
  cross country team have distinguished themselves through their
  skill, hard work, and enduring commitment to excellence, and they
  will cherish their memories of their state title triumph for the
  rest of their lives; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate the Holliday High School girls'
  cross country team on winning the 2021 UIL 3A state championship
  and extend to the team's runners, coaches, and staff sincere best
  wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for the Lady Eagles as an expression of high regard from
  the Texas Senate.
