R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by |
|
|
only a select few, and the attainment of this significant honor by |
|
|
Katie Yurcho of Henrietta heralds a future bright with opportunity |
|
|
and promise; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Yurcho has mastered a number of important skills |
|
|
in her quest to become an Eagle Scout; she has earned merit badges |
|
|
requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, personal |
|
|
fitness, and environmental science, and she has gained experience |
|
|
in leadership and teamwork while undertaking her Eagle Scout |
|
|
project, which involved raising funds and leading volunteers in |
|
|
building a dog park at Hapgood Park; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has ably served her peers in a |
|
|
designated position of responsibility, and in so doing, she has |
|
|
exemplified the many positive traits for which Scouts are renowned; |
|
|
a student at Henrietta High School, she is a member of the National |
|
|
Honor Society and has been actively involved in 4-H and the PALs |
|
|
program; moreover, she has qualified for the All-District Softball |
|
|
Team, as well as the All-Region Concert Band, and she has further |
|
|
distinguished herself as drum major for the school band; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for |
|
|
attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Katie Yurcho has demonstrated |
|
|
an unwavering commitment to Scouts BSA and its ideals, and the |
|
|
knowledge and confidence she has acquired along the way will indeed |
|
|
serve her well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
|
|
hereby congratulate Eagle Scout Katie Yurcho on achieving this |
|
|
prestigious rank and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness. |
