R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sarah Wilfley has been named to the president's list |
|
|
at the University of North Texas; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This prestigious honor is reserved for those |
|
|
students who maintain a grade point average of 4.0 while enrolled in |
|
|
at least 12 hours of graded coursework in residence; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Wilfley is currently working towards a |
|
|
bachelor's degree in political science at UNT, and she serves as |
|
|
president of a political philosophy discussion club; in addition, |
|
|
she is an intern in Senator Drew Springer's office, where her duties |
|
|
include communicating with constituents, performing legislative |
|
|
research, and helping to find new solutions to current challenges; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Casa Roble Fundamental High School in |
|
|
Orangevale, California, Ms. Wilfley received an associate's degree |
|
|
from Sierra College and previously attended California State |
|
|
University, Sacramento; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sarah Wilfley's achievements are a source of great |
|
|
pride to her family and her school, and her hard work and pursuit of |
|
|
excellence have opened the way to a bright and rewarding future; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
|
|
hereby congratulate Sarah Wilfley on her selection to the |
|
|
president's list at the University of North Texas and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Wilfley as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas Senate. |
