SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the citizens of Houston who are participating in the |
|
|
27th Annual Texas Lunar Festival, which is being held on January |
|
|
28, 2023, in Houston; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the Texas Lunar Festival brings |
|
|
together people of diverse backgrounds and nationalities to |
|
|
enjoy a range of cultural offerings in celebration of the Chinese |
|
|
New Year; the festival provides international entertainment and |
|
|
the opportunity to learn about Asian culture and traditions as |
|
|
participants welcome in the new year with hopes for good fortune |
|
|
and good health; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Chinese calendar this year welcomes the year |
|
|
of the Rabbit, and this year's festival marks an important |
|
|
traditional holiday and is an occasion for citizens across the |
|
|
state to gather in celebration and for others to join in viewing |
|
|
the event from locations around the globe; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Lunar Festival has played a vital role |
|
|
in highlighting Houston's diversity and culture for almost three |
|
|
decades, and this year's event is sure to offer an entertaining |
|
|
and enriching experience for all who attend; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend all who are taking part in the 27th |
|
|
Annual Texas Lunar Festival and extend to all participants of |
|
|
this exemplary event best wishes for a successful and memorable |
|
|
celebration; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared in |
|
|
honor of this special occasion. |
