SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Jose Angel Martinez, who died on
  December 16, 2019, at the age of 67; and
         WHEREAS, Jose Angel Martinez was born on August 2, 1952, in
  El Palmarito, Nuevo León, Mexico; he attended elementary school
  through the third grade before immigrating with his family to the
  United States; and
         WHEREAS, A man of determination and strength, Mr. Martinez
  served as a foreman in the Central Valley of California and was
  employed with the same farmer for nearly 50 years; he was blessed
  with four children and nine grandchildren, who were a source of
  great pride and joy in his life; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted father, Mr. Martinez instilled in his
  children the values of hard work, self-reliance, and the
  importance of contributing to one's community; he helped his
  children achieve their dreams and found great reward in their
  successes; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez cherished time spent with family,
  and he enjoyed his visits during the holidays with family members
  in the Rio Grande Valley; he resided in Mission while being cared
  for by family, and he returned to his native Mexico, where he
  spent his final days; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Martinez was a source of strength and
  inspiration in the lives of those who knew him, and he leaves
  behind memories that will be forever treasured by his family and
  friends and by all who were privileged to share in his life; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Jose Angel Martinez; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Jose Angel Martinez.
