R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life made rich through meaningful service drew to
  a close with the passing of Michael E. Custy of Lubbock on
  February 5, 2023, at the age of 75; and
         WHEREAS, Born to Edward and Mary Ann Custy on October 28,
  1947, in Denver, Colorado, Michael Custy graduated from Abraham
  Lincoln High School in June 1966; answering his nation's call to
  duty, he joined the U.S. Air Force and completed five tours in the
  Vietnam War; he retired after 22 years of service at the rank of
  senior master sergeant with numerous honors, including the
  Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, and
  Outstanding Unit Award with valor; and
         WHEREAS, Following his return to civilian life, Mr. Custy
  earned a bachelor's degree from Wayland Baptist University and a
  master's degree from Houston Baptist University; he went on to
  embark on a fulfilling career with the State of Texas, and he
  retired after 29 years as the regional program support director for
  the Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services in Lubbock;
  he also taught business courses at South Plains College, and in his
  leisure time, he enjoyed playing golf; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Custy married the love of his life, "Ping," on
  May 22, 1975, and the couple shared a rewarding union that spanned
  nearly a half century; they raised four children, Aranya, Sara,
  Heather, and Elizabeth, and their treasured family grew to include
  two grandsons and a great-granddaughter; a man of faith, he was an
  active congregant at Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock; and
         WHEREAS, While the passing of Michael Custy brings great
  sorrow to his loved ones, he leaves behind a legacy that will long
  be treasured by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
  hereby pay tribute to the life of Michael E. Custy and extend
  sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Ngarmpis Custy; to his daughters, Aranya Suyabodha, Sara Rush,
  Heather Weber, and Elizabeth McCormick; to his grandchildren, Brian
  Williams and Mike Weber; to his great-grandchild, Charlotte
  Williams; to his siblings, Danny, Tim, Pat, Dennis, and Kevin
  Custy, Kay Moore, Colleen Lorenz, Maureen Roben, and Eileen Hendee;
  and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Michael Custy.
