SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 180
         WHEREAS, Philanthropist Carla Perry has greatly benefited
  citizens of Young County through her long record of service to
  the community; and
         WHEREAS, Committed to the health and well-being of her
  fellow residents, Ms. Perry serves as a director of the Olney
  Hamilton Hospital Foundation; the charitable organization was
  founded in 1997 to advance the hospital's mission, and it has
  since raised $2 million for equipment and items related to
  patient care; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Perry launched a new organization, the
  Perry's Foundation, in 2017; sharing wealth and resources to
  promote the sustainability of the community, it empowers
  service-driven individuals and groups; the foundation has
  conferred academic scholarships and made grants to such
  organizations as Olney Heritage Museum, Olney Enterprise, Olney
  Community Library, and Lamb's Tale Ministries; and
         WHEREAS, An admired businesswoman, Ms. Perry began her
  career alongside her husband, the late L. F. Perry; the couple
  began operating a construction business in the early 1950s, and
  after relocating to Texas in 1959, they established Perry Ready
  Mix; their subsequent enterprise, Construction Equipment
  Manufacturing Company, or CEMCO, has manufactured mobile
  batching plants and mixing equipment since 1975; Ms. Perry
  continues to serve as president, overseeing daily operations of
  the plant; and
         WHEREAS, Carla Perry has made a lasting, positive impact
  through her unyielding dedication to the betterment of her
  community, and her wide-ranging contributions have earned the
  admiration and appreciation of innumerable people; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby honor Carla Perry for her philanthropy and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in her
  endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Perry as an expression of high regard from the
  Texas Senate.
