R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Condell Garden is retiring as executive director of |
|
Interfaith Ministries of Denton on February 28, 2023, drawing to a |
|
close an exemplary career with the organization that has spanned |
|
nearly three decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Interfaith Ministries of Denton is a nonprofit |
|
agency that was chartered in 1992, and in the early years of its |
|
operation, Mrs. Garden served as its sole employee; throughout her |
|
tenure as executive director, she has worked tirelessly to advance |
|
IFM's mission of providing short-term assistance to individuals and |
|
families in need; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Garden has also given generously of her time to |
|
numerous other worthy causes in the Denton community; she served on |
|
the committee that established Our Daily Bread, an organization |
|
supporting the homeless and at-risk in the community, and she has |
|
also partnered with various institutions, such as United Way and |
|
the Denton Independent School District, in back-to-school events; |
|
in addition, she has been a faithful member of the Denton Rotary |
|
Club for 22 years and served as its president from 2019 to 2020; |
|
moreover, she served her country in the United States Army as a |
|
specialist 5; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Garden earned both a bachelor's degree and a |
|
master's degree from Texas Woman's University, and she also holds a |
|
certificate in Nonprofit Management & Leadership from Michigan |
|
State University; in all her endeavors, she enjoys the love and |
|
support of her husband, Earl, and their three children and two |
|
grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the past 27 years, Condell Garden has played an |
|
integral role in an organization that has been a crucial lifeline to |
|
countless Denton residents, and she may take satisfaction in |
|
knowing that her efforts have made a positive and lasting |
|
difference in the community; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby congratulate Condell Garden on her retirement from |
|
Interfaith Ministries of Denton and extend to her sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Garden as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas Senate. |
