SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Kalon Todd Cohen, who died on February
  13, 2023, at the age of 49; and
         WHEREAS, Kalon Cohen was born on March 24, 1973, in Dallas
  to Marion and Gloria Cohen; he was a devoted son to his parents
  and loving brother to his siblings, Roderick, Chris, and Nyla
  Cohen; and
         WHEREAS, Kalon attended Skyline High School and went on to
  graduate from Prairie View A&M University; he later settled in
  DeSoto, where he was an active member of his community for many
  years of his life; and
         WHEREAS, Kalon served with distinction with the Dallas
  Fire Department for 22 years; during his tenure, he bravely aided
  the residents of the Dallas area in times of disaster and
  uncertainty and devoted himself to protecting the safety and
  well-being of his community; and
         WHEREAS, Kalon cherished his family and spending quality
  time with his loved ones; he enjoyed music and had a passion for
  riding motorcycles, and he took joy in living each day to the
  fullest; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, determination, and strength,
  Kalon was an exemplary citizen and a devoted protector of his
  community who gave unselfishly to others; his valor and sense of
  adventure were a source of inspiration to those around him, and
  he leaves behind memories that will be treasured by his family
  and by all who were blessed to share in his life; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Kalon Todd Cohen; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Kalon Cohen.
