SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 274
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Honorable M. Rex Emerson retired from the |
|
|
198th Judicial District Court in Kerr and Bandera Counties on |
|
|
December 31, 2022, after 13 years on the bench; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Licensed by the State Bar of Texas, Judge Emerson |
|
|
has worked as an attorney in Kerr County for more than two |
|
|
decades; he previously served as the Kerr County attorney, a |
|
|
position he held for five years, and he spent two years as the |
|
|
county's administrative judge; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, As a member of the Kerr County Juvenile Board, |
|
|
Judge Emerson has made vital contributions to the fair and proper |
|
|
administration of juvenile justice; moreover, he is a volunteer |
|
|
judge for the Kerr County Specialty Court, which he initiated in |
|
|
2019; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and |
|
|
commitment to the law, Judge Emerson has greatly benefited the |
|
|
citizens of Kerr County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |
|
|
his accomplishments as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of |
|
|
his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby congratulate the Honorable M. Rex Emerson on |
|
|
his retirement from the 198th Judicial District Court and extend |
|
|
to him sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Judge Emerson as an expression of high regard from |
|
|
the Texas Senate. |
