SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize the Center for Transforming Lives in honor of the
  organization's 115th anniversary, which was celebrated in 2022;
  and
         WHEREAS, Previously known as the YWCA of Fort Worth and
  Tarrant County, the Center for Transforming Lives was founded in
  1907 by Fort Worth women; it was the first YWCA in Texas to serve
  local low-income women and offer them such services as housing,
  employment support, and social activities; and
         WHEREAS, The center has strengthened its community and the
  surrounding areas since its beginning; it was a founding member
  of the local chapters of United Service Organizations, Red Cross,
  and United Way, and in the 1950s, it expanded its services
  throughout Fort Worth, Arlington, and Parker County; and
         WHEREAS, Committed to disrupting the cycle of poverty that
  affects many women and children, the center expanded its reach in
  2013 to provide support for families experiencing homelessness,
  to advocate early childhood education and financial literacy,
  and to offer additional resources to vulnerable families to
  promote their economic mobility; and
         WHEREAS, The center has acted as a safety net for more than
  3,000 women and children in Tarrant County each year since 2017;
  a model of generosity of spirit and instrumental help and an
  anchor for those who want to work toward a better future, the
  center has done much to remedy the adverse circumstances
  experienced by countless people and serves as an inspiring
  example to all Texans; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby commend the associates and supporters of the
  Center for Transforming Lives on their invaluable contributions
  benefiting mothers and young children in our state and extend to
  all associated with the center best wishes for much continued
  success in their exemplary mission; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the center as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
