SENATE RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to |
|
|
recognize the Robstown High School girls' powerlifting team, |
|
|
which recently won the Class 4A small-school championship title; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Robstown Lady Pickers were victorious in |
|
|
their appearance at the 2023 Texas High School Women's |
|
|
Powerlifting Association meet in Frisco; these young athletes |
|
|
have demonstrated great talent and perseverance throughout the |
|
|
school year, resulting in four first-place performances at the |
|
|
state championship contest; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Under the inspiring leadership and expertise of |
|
|
the Robstown High School powerlifting coaches and with the |
|
|
assistance of managers and trainers, the Lady Pickers have |
|
|
developed exceptional teamwork and discipline; team members |
|
|
Jozannah Rodriguez, Olivia Morales, Leaya Alaniz, and Janessa |
|
|
Vela captured first-place finishes while Amelynne Olguin and |
|
|
Jamie Casas took home silver medals; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Robstown High School and the City of Robstown are |
|
|
proud of the Lady Pickers for their hard work, their impressive |
|
|
skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend the players, coaches, and staff of |
|
|
the Robstown High School girls' powerlifting team on their |
|
|
successful season and congratulate them on winning the 2023 Texas |
|
|
High School Women's Powerlifting Association Class 4A |
|
|
small-school championship title; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for |
|
|
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. |
