SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 475

WHEREAS, The AG Youth of Texas Lots, Stock, & Barrows BBQ Cook-Off is taking place in San Antonio on May 5 and 6, 2023; and

WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Champions Barbecue Alliance as one of the organization's annual state championship cook-offs, this much-anticipated event attracts talented chefs from across Texas and beyond; these highly skilled pitmasters put their culinary abilities to the test as they vie to produce the tastiest entries in several different categories; and

WHEREAS, The event's grand champion will receive an invitation to the American Royal World Series of Barbecue contest as well as a chance to compete at the Jack Daniel's Championship Invitational Barbecue competition; and

WHEREAS, The Lots, Stock, & Barrows BBQ Cook-Off serves as a fundraiser for AG Youth of Texas, a nonprofit organization that supports local youth in their livestock and agricultural mechanics projects; and

WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and the Lots, Stock, & Barrows BBQ Cook-Off is sure to offer good food and good times to everyone in attendance; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th Legislature, hereby commemorate the AG Youth of Texas Lots, Stock, & Barrows BBQ Cook-Off and extend to the organizers, contestants, and attendees sincere best wishes for a fun and successful event; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be prepared for AG Youth of Texas as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate.
