R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Houston Astros public address announcer Bob Ford was
  inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame on November 5, 2022, at
  the Texas Museum of Broadcasting and Communications in Kilgore; and
         WHEREAS, Born and raised in Galveston, Bob Ford got his start
  as an announcer at the age of 13, when he took the microphone for
  youth baseball games in his hometown, already possessing the
  booming voice that is his signature; he landed his first Houston
  radio job after graduating from high school in 1975, and he gained
  valuable work experience with numerous other stations over the
  years; and
         WHEREAS, In 1994, Mr. Ford embarked on his career with the
  Astros, initially joining the organization as its announcer at the
  Astrodome and filling the same role at Minute Maid Park beginning in
  2000; he has experienced the thrill of calling playoff contests and
  the four World Series in which the Astros have competed; in 2017, he
  helped energize the Houston fans and players in games three, four,
  and five of the series, and the Astros went on to win the
  championship in seven games; and
         WHEREAS, Since 2014, Mr. Ford has also served as the PA
  announcer for University of Houston football games at TDECU
  Stadium; he is the longtime owner and operator of Bob Ford
  Productions, a voiceover and audio production company; and
         WHEREAS, For nearly three decades, Bob Ford's name and voice
  have been synonymous with the Houston Astros, and this legendary
  announcer is indeed deserving of this prestigious hall of fame
  honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
  hereby congratulate Bob Ford on his induction into the Texas Radio
  Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2022 and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Ford as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  Senate.
