R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a rich and rewarding life remain to
  comfort the family and friends of Patricia Ann LeMay Hocking of
  La Marque, who passed away on January 19, 2022, at the age of 75;
  and
         WHEREAS, The former Patti LeMay was born in Houston on
  September 16, 1946; she fell in love with ballet at an early age and
  danced professionally with the Houston Ballet; following her
  graduation from Incarnate Word Academy in downtown Houston, she
  married Bobby Hocking and moved with him to Bee Cave, where she
  opened and operated the first of two dance studios; and
         WHEREAS, After Bee Cave was incorporated in 1987, Mr. Hocking
  was elected as the town's first mayor, and Mrs. Hocking supported
  her husband unstintingly throughout his tenure in office; she went
  on to travel internationally with her husband during his career as a
  musician, and they later co-pastored a number of churches in
  Oklahoma and Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Returning to public service, Mr. Hocking
  successfully ran for the office of mayor of La Marque in 2011;
  Mrs. Hocking enthusiastically settled into her new home, where she
  once again embraced her role as first lady; she was also a member of
  the La Marque Garden Club and impressed her neighbors with her
  talent for gardening; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Mrs. Hocking enjoyed the love
  and support of her husband, their three children, Clover, Heather,
  and Rob, and several grandchildren; she was devoted to her family,
  her faith, and her community, and she endeared herself to countless
  people with her kind heart and generous nature; and
         WHEREAS, Patti Hocking was an inspiration to all who had the
  good fortune to know her, and she will forever be remembered with
  deep admiration and affection; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
  hereby pay tribute to the life of Patricia Ann LeMay Hocking and
  extend sincere sympathy to all those who mourn her passing; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Patti Hocking.
