SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
  recognize Band of the Hills on the occasion of the group's 25th
  anniversary; and
         WHEREAS, Formed in 1998 by 18 Cedar Park musicians, Band of
  the Hills is a wind and percussion ensemble that has delighted
  music lovers in Williamson County for 25 years; the band has
  grown to comprise more than 100 members who span a range of ages,
  occupations, and backgrounds and are connected by their love of
  music; and
         WHEREAS, The Band of the Hills' repertoire includes
  marches, classical music, show tunes, big band orchestral
  pieces, and seasonal music; participants volunteer their time
  and talents at such free community events as holiday
  celebrations, festivals, and formal concerts; and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, Band of the Hills has brought
  live entertainment and joyful music to the Austin area and to the
  communities of Cedar Park, Leander, Round Rock, and
  Pflugerville; the band is affiliated with the Cedar Park Chamber
  of Commerce, the Leander Chamber of Commerce, and the National
  Association of Concert Bands; and
         WHEREAS, Band of the Hills is celebrating its
  quarter-century anniversary with a concert on May 21, 2023, at
  Vista Ridge High School Performing Arts Center in Cedar Park;
  live music is an intrinsic and beloved component of Texas
  culture, and Band of the Hills has continued to inspire a deep
  appreciation for music by carrying on this proud tradition in
  Central Texas; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby commend Band of the Hills on its many
  contributions to music and culture in Texas and extend to the
  band's musicians and to the event's attendees best wishes for a
  memorable and enjoyable 25th anniversary concert; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  the band as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
