R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Noel Keith White of Post, who passed away on January 5, 2020, at
  the age of 81; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Lowe and Beulah White, Noel White was born
  in Garza County on October 15, 1938, and he grew up with the
  companionship of his brother, Carter; he moved with his family to
  Post in the fourth grade, and he attended Post High School, where he
  competed in football, basketball, and track and graduated in 1957;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. White farmed in the Graham community for 25
  years, and he was also employed as the manager of the Graham Co-op
  Gin, as a day-worker at several local ranches, and as a school bus
  driver for the Post Independent School District; he retired from
  his job as a crop insurance adjuster at the age of 75, but he
  continued to work as a substitute bus driver until two weeks before
  his death; and
         WHEREAS, Active in his community, Mr. White gave generously
  of his time and talents to a number of organizations, including the
  Graham and Garza County 4-H Adult Leaders Association, the Garza
  County Junior Livestock Association, and the Caprock Cutting Horse
  Association; moreover, he served as an elder at the Graham Chapel
  Church of Christ and was a mentor to many area young people, helping
  them improve their horsemanship skills and prepare themselves for
  the challenges of adulthood; a gifted singer and musician, he
  performed at the Post Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for more
  than three and a half decades and at numerous other venues; in
  recognition of his many contributions, he was named the Garza
  County Citizen of the Year in 2012; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. White and his wife, Orabeth, shared a rewarding
  marriage that spanned 62 years; they raised three children, Steve,
  Sam, and Keitha, and the family later grew to include a number of
  grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his loved ones, his faith, and
  his community, Noel White earned the lasting respect and admiration
  of all who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature
  hereby pay tribute to the memory of Noel Keith White and extend
  heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Orabeth White; to his children, Steve White and his wife, Jackie,
  Sam Butler, and Keitha Beth Hill and her husband, Tim; to his
  grandchildren, Cheyenne and Kody Porterfield, Schelli and Cody
  Jackson, Avery Wright, Makaylee Noel Butler, Hadley White, and
  Haven and Harbor Hill; to his great-grandchildren, Klaire
  Porterfield and Jaylee Jackson; and to his other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Noel White.
