SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 610
         WHEREAS, Aspen Cunningham of Girl Scout Troop No. 1 in
  Tyler has attained the Girl Scout Gold Award, and this
  accomplishment truly merits recognition; and
 
         WHEREAS, To earn this distinction, Ms. Cunningham
  successfully met a series of requirements emphasizing community
  service, personal and spiritual growth, positive values, and
  leadership skills; as part of that process, she planned and
  implemented a Girl Scout Gold Award project that involved
  constructing a solar-powered bird oasis at Tyler State Park and
  creating a booklet for park visitors that highlights native and
  migratory birds, food sources, and nesting areas; and
 
         WHEREAS, By fostering self-confidence and by encouraging
  young women to explore career opportunities and to become more
  socially conscious, the Girl Scout program is helping its
  participants to achieve their greatest potential as engaged
  citizens and leaders; and
 
         WHEREAS, The maturity and dedication that Ms. Cunningham
  has demonstrated in pursuit of her goals truly exemplify the
  highest ideals of the Girl Scouts, and she may indeed reflect
  with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby congratulate Aspen Cunningham on her receipt
  of the Girl Scout Gold Award and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
 
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Cunningham as an expression of high regard from
  the Texas Senate.
