R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The conclusion of the 2022-2023 academic year |
|
provides a fitting opportunity to recognize Galveston County's |
|
seven independent school district education foundations for their |
|
invaluable contributions; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Clear Creek Education Foundation, the |
|
Friendswood ISD Education Foundation, the Texas City ISD Foundation |
|
for the Future, the Galveston ISD Educational Foundation, the |
|
Dickinson ISD Education Foundation, the Santa Fe Texas Education |
|
Foundation, and the Hitchcock ISD Education Foundation |
|
collectively work to secure a broad range of resources for area |
|
schools through community-wide partnerships; and |
|
WHEREAS, Among their initiatives, these entities provide |
|
financial support for educational programs and activities, while |
|
recognizing staff excellence and facilitating academic |
|
achievement; structured as tax-exempt nonprofits, the foundations |
|
are managed by a volunteer board of directors representing local |
|
businesses and civic organizations; and |
|
WHEREAS, Galveston County education foundations play an |
|
essential role in equipping school districts with the tools they |
|
need to succeed, and in so doing, they are helping to ensure a |
|
first-rate education for young Texans; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
|
hereby commend Galveston County's independent school district |
|
education foundations and extend to all those associated with the |
|
organizations sincere best wishes for continued success with their |
|
important work. |
