R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Harlingen Police Department is holding its sixth |
|
|
annual BBQ cook-off on June 17, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Champions Barbecue Alliance as one |
|
|
of the organization's state championship cook-offs, this |
|
|
much-anticipated event attracts talented chefs from across Texas; |
|
|
these accomplished pitmasters put their skills to the test as they |
|
|
vie to produce the tastiest entries in several different |
|
|
categories; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Proceeds from the contest will benefit the |
|
|
Children's Advocacy Centers of Cameron and Willacy Counties; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Texans are noted for their love of barbecue, and the |
|
|
Harlingen Police Department BBQ Cook-off is sure to offer everyone |
|
|
in attendance the chance to enjoy good food and good times while |
|
|
supporting a worthy cause; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature |
|
|
hereby commemorate the sixth annual Harlingen Police Department BBQ |
|
|
Cook-off and extend to the organizers, participants, and attendees |
|
|
sincere best wishes for a fun and successful event; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the Harlingen Police Department as an expression of |
|
|
high regard by the Texas Senate. |
