SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 685
|
|
WHEREAS, Kathi Seay is retiring as the policy and |
|
legislative director in the office of State Senator Bob Hall in |
|
2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, A stay-at-home mom for many years, Ms. Seay |
|
discovered her passion for public policy through her involvement |
|
with the Katy Independent School District; after moving to the |
|
Round Rock and Georgetown area in 1992, she began volunteering for |
|
the Texas Conservative Coalition, which she later served as |
|
executive director, and she cofounded the Patriot Academy, a |
|
nonprofit that mentors young adults on the legislative process; in |
|
1993, she won election to the Round Rock ISD Board of Trustees; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Seay joined the staff of the Texas |
|
Legislature in 2003, when she went to work for State |
|
Representative Frank Corte Jr.; she subsequently enjoyed a |
|
successful tenure with State Representative David Simpson before |
|
taking a position in the office of State Senator Bob Hall in 2016; |
|
over the years, her resourcefulness and initiative have earned |
|
the appreciation of her colleagues, and her contributions to |
|
carrying forth Senator Hall's legislative agenda have helped |
|
address issues facing citizens across the Lone Star State; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Seay has drawn strength |
|
from a rewarding marriage with her husband, Jerry, and she takes |
|
great pride in her three children, Stormi, Kristi, and Matthew, |
|
and three grandchildren, Hannah, Hunter, and Remington; and |
|
WHEREAS, Kathi Seay's dedication, professionalism, and |
|
commitment to excellence have greatly benefited her fellow |
|
Texans, and she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well |
|
spent as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
Legislature, hereby congratulate Kathi Seay on retiring as the |
|
policy and legislative director in the office of State Senator |
|
Bob Hall and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Seay as an expression of high regard from the |
|
Texas Senate. |
