Eileen Collins |
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their |
|
memories of Eileen Haynes Collins of Bloomburg, who passed away |
|
on January 15, 2022, at the age of 72; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Horace and Lois Glass Haynes, the |
|
former Eileen Haynes was born on July 20, 1949; after graduating |
|
from Bloomburg High School in 1967, she earned degrees from East |
|
Texas State University and Louisiana State University Medical |
|
Center; she went on to enjoy a rewarding career in education as a |
|
teacher and speech therapist with Caddo Parish Public Schools in |
|
Shreveport, Louisiana; following her retirement from the |
|
district after 26 years, she continued her work as a speech |
|
therapist with Cass County Shared Services; and |
|
WHEREAS, Highly engaged in her community, Ms. Collins |
|
presided over two conservative Republican women's clubs and |
|
excelled as chair of the Cass County Republican Party for more |
|
than a decade; she also gave generously of her time and talents to |
|
Keep Texas Beautiful; a woman of deep faith, she was a lifelong |
|
member of Bloomburg First Baptist Church, where she served the |
|
congregation as a pianist and organist and was active in the |
|
children's ministry; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Collins benefited from |
|
the love and support of her husband, Jerry, with whom she shared a |
|
fulfilling union of 54 years; she was the proud mother of three |
|
children, Jeffrey, Mitchell, and Robin, and she had the pleasure of |
|
welcoming into her family eight grandchildren, Jacob, Lindsay, |
|
Christian, Sydney, Gracie, Carter, Avery, and Emory; and |
|
WHEREAS, Eileen Collins lived a rich and purposeful life |
|
devoted to her family, her community, and her faith, and she |
|
leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity that will |
|
continue to inspire all those who knew and loved her; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Eileen Haynes |
|
Collins and extend sincere condolences to the members of her |
|
family: to her husband, Jerry Collins; to her children, Jeffrey |
|
Collins and his wife, Samira, Mitchell Collins and his wife, |
|
Lauri, and Robin Russell and her husband, Jim; to her |
|
grandchildren, Lindsay Armstrong, Jacob, Christian, Sydney, |
|
Gracie, and Carter Collins, and Avery and Emory Russell; and to |
|
her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
this day, it do so in memory of Eileen Collins. |
