SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 718
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Patti Radle is concluding her service to the |
|
|
San Antonio Independent School District Board of Trustees in May |
|
|
2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Radle has represented District 5 on the |
|
|
school board since her election in May 2011, and over the course |
|
|
of her exemplary 12-year tenure, she has worked tirelessly in |
|
|
behalf of the district, which serves approximately 47,000 |
|
|
students across more than 90 campuses; she served the board as |
|
|
president from 2015 to 2021; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A former educator, Mrs. Radle taught elementary |
|
|
school in San Antonio ISD for 12 years, during which time she |
|
|
served as a third-grade teacher at J. T. Brackenridge Elementary |
|
|
School and directed a program promoting conflict resolution at |
|
|
various SAISD campuses; she has taught at the middle and high |
|
|
school levels in other districts as well; deeply dedicated to her |
|
|
community, she has served as the volunteer co-director of the |
|
|
local nonprofit Inner City Development since 1972, and from 2003 |
|
|
to 2007, she was the District 5 representative on the San Antonio |
|
|
City Council; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Radle holds a degree in theology from |
|
|
Marquette University and a degree in English, as well as her |
|
|
teacher and bilingual certifications, from Our Lady of the Lake |
|
|
University; she was recently presented with an honorary |
|
|
doctorate from the Oblate School of Theology; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through her dedication, professionalism, and |
|
|
commitment to excellence, Patti Radle has earned the lasting |
|
|
respect and appreciation of her fellow citizens, and her |
|
|
contributions to public education in San Antonio will continue to |
|
|
resonate for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, hereby commend Patti Radle for her years of service to |
|
|
the San Antonio Independent School District Board of Trustees and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mrs. Radle as an expression of high regard from |
|
|
the Texas Senate. |
