SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 722
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Abel Blanco
 
         WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Abel Blanco of El
  Paso were deeply saddened by his passing on May 16, 2023, at the
  age of 89; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Aristeo and Severa Blanco, Abel Blanco
  was born December 11, 1933, and he grew up with the companionship
  of three siblings, Mary, Aristeo, and Oscar; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Blanco was a veteran of the United States
  Navy, having served as a signalman from 1953 until 1957; in
  civilian life, he worked as an auto mechanic for the U.S. Postal
  Service for many years; he enjoyed spending his leisure hours
  maintaining his backyard for his family to enjoy, feeding his
  turtles, watching boxing matches, and painting ships and Native
  American art pieces, and he collected die-cast model cars, wind
  chimes, and Homies; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Blanco benefited from
  the love and support of his wife, Guadalupe, who preceded him in
  death; he took great pride in his three children, Leticia, Norma,
  and Abel, and with the passing years, he had the pleasure of
  seeing his family grow to include six grandchildren, Carlos,
  Joseph, Victoria, Eduardo, Evelyn, and Amy, and two
  great-grandchildren, Harper and Roland; and
         WHEREAS, Although Abel Blanco is greatly missed, those
  fortunate enough to have known him will remember the way he
  touched their lives with his remarkable kindness and delightful
  sense of humor, and they will forever hold him close in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th
  Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Abel Blanco and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family:  to his
  daughters, Leticia Blanco Aguirre and Norma Blanco; to his son,
  Abel Blanco Jr., and his wife, Maricela; to his brothers, Aristeo
  Blanco and his wife, Eileen, and Oscar Blanco and his wife,
  Margaret; to his grandchildren, Carlos R. Aguirre, Joseph
  Aguirre and his wife, Liz, Victoria G. Molinar, Eduardo Ortiz and
  his wife, Nohely, Evelyn A. Blanco, and Amy E. Blanco; to his
  great-grandchildren, Harper C. Aguirre and Roland M.
  Aguirre-Silva; and to his other relatives and many friends; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns
  this day, it do so in memory of Abel Blanco.
