SENATE RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, It will be necessary for the Senate of Texas to
  adopt rules of procedure to govern its proceedings in the trial
  of Warren Kenneth Paxton Jr., Attorney General, upon articles of
  impeachment presented by the House of Representatives; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED by the Senate of the State of Texas, That a
  special committee of seven senators be appointed by the President
  to prepare and present to a caucus of the Senate to be held on
  Tuesday, June 20, 2023, such rules of procedure for consideration
  by the Senate; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That notwithstanding senate rules governing
  committee procedures, the committee shall meet subject to the
  call of the chair and is authorized to meet in closed session for
  purposes of deliberation; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That the President be authorized to issue a
  proclamation setting a date and time not later than Monday,
  August 28, 2023, for the Senate to convene as a Court of
  Impeachment; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That the President be authorized to notify all
  members of the Senate, the Governor, the Board of Managers
  selected by the House of Representatives, the Speaker of the
  House of Representatives, and Warren Kenneth Paxton of such date
  and time set for the Senate to convene as a Court of Impeachment.
