IN RE:
HB255 by Swanson (Relating to the maintenance of records and charging of fees by a notary public; increasing the amount of certain fees.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would increase the fee a notary can charge for certain services and require that the Secretary of State (SOS) adjust those fees every five years. It is assumed the agency can fulfill this requirement with existing resources.
According to the Comptroller of Public Accounts, the bill would have no revenue implications to the State as the fees proposed for increase in the bill are retained by notaries for services performed.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
