No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend certain procedures for a juvenile court to waive its exclusive original jurisdiction and transfer a child to criminal court, including by requiring an admonishment of the child in open court before conducting a hearing to consider transfer of the child.
It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
While no significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated, according to the Office of Court Administration, the additional admonishment hearing may increase costs for appointed counsel.
