No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
This bill would prohibit employment, dress, or grooming polices from discriminating based on hair texture or protective hairstyle commonly or historically associated with race.
While the Texas Workforce Commission is unable to determine the number of complaints as a result of this legislation; based on the analysis of the Texas Workforce Commission, Texas Education Agency, Texas A&M University System Administrative & General Offices, University of Texas System Administration, and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, any duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished by the agencies utilizing existing resources.
