No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Family Code to require the attorney general and the State Bar of Texas to jointly develop information to provide to the public about the provisions that may be included in a protective order, including the ability of a court to render a protective order prohibiting a party from removing a pet, companion animal, or assistance animal from the possession or actual or constructive care of a person named in the order.

According to the Office of Court Administration and the Office of the Attorney General, any additional work resulting from the provisions of this bill could be absorbed within current resources. In addition, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated with the implementation of the bill.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
