HB2076 by Goodwin (Relating to the prohibition on the possession of a firearm by a person following the person's conviction of certain family violence misdemeanors.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would expand the applicability of the criminal offense prohibiting possession of a firearm for a person previously convicted of a misdemeanor assault offense against a family member or household member to include a person previously convicted of such an assault on a person within a dating relationship.
Local Government Impact
It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
