FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2126 by Goodwin (relating to information reported through the Public Education Information Management System and to parents regarding disciplinary measures or restraint used by a public school.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

School districts that choose to permit corporal punishment would have new parental notice requirements and the bill's provisions would increase district data submissions to the Texas Education Agency. However, no significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
