No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill repeals the expiration date of Chapter 508 of the Business & Commerce Code, which allows a merchant to require photo identification to authorize debt or credit card transactions.
According to the Office of the Attorney General, any additional work resulting from the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within current resources.
