FISCAL NOTE, 88TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 27, 2023

TO:
Honorable James B. Frank, Chair, House Committee on Human Services

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2439 by Thimesch (Relating to the individuals to whom notice and information must be provided after the Department of Family and Protective Services or another agency takes possession of a child.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would waive written notice if the court finds that the alleged father committed the offense of trafficking of persons and the department would not be required to provide information to an individual if the department is aware or believes that the alleged father committed the offense of trafficking of persons.

It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
