HB2545 by Capriglione (relating to an individual's genetic data, including the use of that data by certain genetic testing companies for commercial purposes and the individual's property right in DNA; authorizing a civil penalty.), Committee Report 2nd House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Business & Commerce Code to limit the use of an individual's genetic data by certain genetic testing companies and authorizes the OAG to sue to recover a civil penalty for violations of the chapter.
 
It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
