Fiscal Analysis
The
bill would require the Soil and Water Conservation Board (SWCB) to conduct a
study of the extent of the growth of carrizo cane along the Rio Grande and to report results of the study
as required by the bill no later than January 1, 2025. The bill would expire February 1, 2025.
Methodology
Based on information provided by the SWCB, this analysis assumes a one-time General Revenue cost of $492,349 would be necessary in fiscal year 2024 to provide for a fixed wing aircraft to conduct an aerial survey to acquire and collect data and imagery required by the bill and produce the study.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
