Local Government Impact
Districts must adopt rules to establish programs that promote parents as partners in cybersecurity and online safety that involve parents in students' use of transferred equipment or electronic devices. Additionally, they must, for the transfer of an electronic device for educational purposes, install an Internet filter that blocks pornographic or obscene material. There may be costs to districts to install the required Internet filter on devices they transfer to students.
