IN RE:	HB2691 by Button (Relating to the authority of the comptroller of public accounts to issue certain payments to persons who are indebted or delinquent in taxes owed to the state and to state agency reporting requirements regarding such persons.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Government Code Section 403.055, relating to Comptroller Payments to Debtors or Delinquents Prohibited, to add Subsection (e-1), to allow the Comptroller to issue a payment to a person indebted to the state after having withheld the amount of the indebtedness; and to add (g-1), to detail a state agency's reporting and notification requirements related to such indebtedness.

According to the Comptroller's office, there would be no administrative costs associated with implementing the provisions of the bill.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
