LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 88TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 19, 2023

TO:
Honorable Charles Perry, Chair, Senate Committee on Water, Agriculture & Rural Affairs

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB3361 by Cain (Relating to the slaughtering of livestock.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

The fiscal implications to units of local government cannot be determined because the number of permits required by a commissioners court for which a fee was paid that would no longer either be collected from existing slaughterers or required of new slaughterers is unknown.

No significant fiscal impact is anticipated for the local court system and units of local government from repealing the Class C misdemeanor for slaughterer violations.
