The bill would amend the Education Code as it relates to the operations of a juvenile justice alternative education program by a county department of education. According to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

The local education department of a county with a population greater than 125,000 would develop an juvenile justice alternative education program
