IN RE:
HB4759 by Campos (relating to an attack by a dangerous dog; increasing criminal penalties.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would establish a Class B misdemeanor penalty for certain unprovoked dog attacks that result in bodily injury. The bill would increase the penalty relating to an attack by a dangerous dog from a Class C misdemeanor to a Class A misdemeanor if the defendant was previously convicted of such an offense. It is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
