HB5232 by Spiller (Relating to civil penalties imposed for violations of the Texas Free Enterprise and Antitrust Act of 1983.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Business and Commerce Code to create a scaled recoveries of civil fines based on the market capitalization of the company that violates the antitrust laws.

It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
