No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 442 of the Government Code to establish a task force to investigate and provide recommendations for the repatriation and disposition of Native American and indigenous human remains and certain items held by state institutions and agencies. The task force would operate for no more than two years from the date of which it is established by the Texas Historical Commission. A report on the results shall be provided annually, no later than December 31 of each year the task force is active. 

It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
