No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

According to the Department of State Health Services, Health and Human Services Commission, and the Office of the Attorney General, it is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

The Texas Medical Board anticipates a potential impact because of possible increases in complaints and investigations. The number of complaints that the agency may receive cannot be estimated; however, this estimate does not anticipate that amount to be significant. 

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
