SB187 by Miles (Relating to failure to report assault, neglect, or omission of care in certain group homes; creating a criminal offense.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would create a state jail felony offense if a person has reasonable cause to believe that a resident of a group home has suffered bodily injury due to assault, neglect, or an omission in care and fails to report that fact to law enforcement or the Department of Family and Protective Services.
It is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.
Local Government Impact
It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
