FISCAL NOTE, 88TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 28, 2023

TO:
Honorable Brad Buckley, Chair, House Committee on Public Education

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB763 by Middleton (Relating to allowing public schools to employ or accept as volunteers chaplains to provide support, services, and programs for students.), As Engrossed

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that any costs associated with the bill could be absorbed using existing resources.

Local Government Impact

It is assumed some districts would incur costs related to implementation of the bill if they choose to employ a chaplain in lieu of a school counselor.
