SB1551 by West (Relating to the prosecution of the criminal offense of failure to identify; creating a criminal offense.), As Introduced

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would expand the conduct constituting the Class B misdemeanor offense of failure to identify to include certain conduct by an operator of a motor vehicle who is lawfully detained by a peace officer for an alleged violation of law. It is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant. 

Local Government Impact

It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
