SB1839 by Hinojosa (relating to the unlawful sale or purchase of shark fins or shark fin products; creating a criminal offense.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the conduct constituting the Class B Parks and Wildlife Code misdemeanor offense of selling or purchasing shark fins and provisions related to the prosecution of such an offense. The bill would authorize the Parks and Wildlife Commission to adopt rules as necessary to administer such provisions. It is assumed that any fiscal impact and any impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources would not be significant.

Local Government Impact

It is assumed that any fiscal impact to units of local government associated with enforcement, prosecution, supervision, or confinement would not be significant.
